How Can I Get Mine?

The answer to that question is simple. You already have your LifeDreams. You must only learn to recognize them for what they are.

Throughout history there has been much written about signs, omens and portents. Soothsayers, priests and shamans of many cultures gave these "outer noticed events" great credence in foretelling the future. What they knew, and what we have forgotten, is that the waking experience is actually a dreaming experience and the dreaming experience is the cause of the waking one. To them, life as we know it was the real dream because it is simply a symbolic after effect of the original creative cause much like an odor is the after effect of a previous, and possibly unnoticed, cause. All of this concept is based on our normal understanding of cause and effect except for the idea that a valid cause can be a non-material thing as nebulous as a thought...or state of mind.

Yet, if one considers this deeply, it can be seen that all of the things that we create, whether with our hands or with our minds, is first presaged by an idea. Idea is the formative cause. Actions upon that idea are normally thought to be needed. However, it can be shown by numerous examples, including scientific studies of the efficacy of prayer, that thought does have an effect. And it has also been shown by studies in parapsychology that emotional involvement with the subject either greatly facilitates or greatly retards the results derived, depending upon whether the emotion is positive or negative. Life has both a literal and a symbolic level to the two different aspects of mind that comprise the conscious and subconscious faculties within us. And each sees it in its own language. The language used by the conscious mind is literal. The language used by the subconscious mind is figurative...symbolic...metaphoric. This is the same language that our dreams are given to us in!

Thus, learn dream symbolism and then you can begin to both witness and interpret the LifeDream that you are, even at this moment, immersed within. And when you do, you will realize why all sages have talked about the illusion of life...and the blindness or captivity that most of us live our lives within. "For those with eyes to see and ears to hear", often repeated in the Bible, takes on a whole new meaning. This was an injunction to look behind the obvious, literal meaning...to the hidden, symbolic meaning of what was being said. And to look beyond the brightness of the literality of waking conscious life to the "through a glass darkly", hidden causality meanings of the dreaming mind...the mind of the soul...for the sources of all things.

How to Observe a LifeDream...Anywhere, Anytime

First....simply change your focus of awareness as you do something. This could be flipping through the channels on the tube, taking a trip to the grocery store, having a conversation, reading the newspaper, taking the dog to the vet, etc., etc.

By "changing your focus", I mean to pay close attention to the things that your mind causes you to notice. Think of this in terms of having a dream. Pretend you are dreaming, if you have to. Then write it down...record every detail that you recall...just as you would if you were recording a dream for later interpretation. (when you get really good at this you will not have to write it down....you will instantly know what everything that is happening means)

Once the LifeDream is recorded, read what you have written and interpret it using the same symbols that you would use for interpreting your dreams. For instance, when you went to the grocery store, you rode in the car. The color of the car, the new ding on the front fender, the dirty windshield, etc., all have meaning in your LifeDream. So does the car itself. Using the car as a base symbol for security, a dirty windshield, for instance, would mean that you are "seeing" your path ahead with a bit of obscurity....or not as clearly as you would like.

Continue until the LifeDream interpretation is finished. Voila, you will have experienced a LifeDream, interpreted it as to its meaning...as if it were a normal, sleeping dream. Compare this to what your dreams are telling you. You will see that they coincide by general timeframe.

What Good Is a LifeDream?

What good is any awareness that we have? It is information — information about how we process our experience of our waking life. From this information we gain knowledge about the only thing worth gaining knowledge about...which is ourselves.

"Ourselves" are the observer instruments that we use to experience our reality. Doesn't it make sense that we fully understand the instrument and its capabilities? That is my answer to "What good is a LifeDream". It is the same answer that I would give for the value of dreams or for our normal waking experience. Information tells us more about ourselves than it does about what is "out there".

But don't take my word for it. Try it. As you become more knowledgeable about your own symbols...and the universal and cultural symbols that appear in your dreams, you will become proficient in reading the "signs, omens and portents" that are shown to you continuously in your waking life. This is how the shamans and "holy ones" of all cultures have done it. They have simply learned to read their LifeDreams....and to interpret them correctly.

This is not a God given talent that only some people have.
It is a learned skill that we all now have access to!!!!!
