Meaning
of LifeDreams
As for meaning, who among us would not like to banish pain or need of
any sort from our experience? Isn't that what all of the myths are about?
The heavenly concepts and utopian ideas of various religions and schools
of thought, as well as myths such as "The American Dream" are all based
on this thought. The creation of a permanent state of joy or happiness,
with all cares being left far behind, has been the goal of them all. What
is implied by this is the creation of a state of being which is secure
and stable in every aspect. In short....it is the personal awareness of
possessing the capability of utilizing the most potent power or force
in existence...the power of Creation, itself.
The various rituals which have been devised by humankind in different
models of society have all been aimed at providing some sort of a mechanism
whereby we can achieve this ultimate goal. Oracular and divinitory procedures
are attempts to relieve our psychological doubt and our fears of the future,
based on knowledge from someone or something greater than ourselves. And
people have attributed the powers that cause these things to everything
from "God" to shiny reflections on a piece of crystal. Affirmations
and magical incantations are more of our attempts to do the same. Ritual
object use and magical potions utilize physical, symbolic representations
of the "power" which we all subconsciously know must exist "somewhere",
and are represtentative of our attempts to gain personal access to it.
Prayer and supplication, whether to a Diety or to a Higher Self, is the
formulation of a mental plan for the recreation of our reality, also.
And, when one reduces all of these forms of endeavor to their ultimate
basis, one can see that the foundation meaning of each of them is to stop
"pain" or "discomfort" of any kind.. This is the greater desire of every
human being.
I have come to the conclusion that all
human experience of pain, whether psychological, emotional or physical
is of the same nature. It functionally exists for the same purpose...to
teach us the Laws of "how things work". In other words, it contains within
it the seeds of its own destruction. In fact, all falsehood does. And
who among us can truthfully say that they would rather be "controlled
by" unknown forces rather than be the "conscious creator" of their own
free will reality? Herein lies the secret of secrets which is not, and
has never been, really a secret but which forms the basis of my understanding
of the Meaning behind the LifeDream concept.
The ultimate secret force or energy is
Love. Love's
nature is creative. And
Love, in action, banishes fear and overides all pain.
Love is an emotional energy. Fear is an indicator of the absence of love
(creative power), representative of our doubts about it, just as darkness
is the absence of light and cold is the absence of heat. Fear has many
faces...and wears as many masks as we do. Love is an energy which has
one face...but can be turned and directed in many directions, therefore
seeming like different forces at different times. But when it is flowing
properly and in unrestricted abundance...in both
directions....towards the self and towards others there is no room in
the mind for the awareness of fear or pain. Fear, in essence, is the only
thing which can block the flowing of Love. Things like guilt, unworthiness,
disbelief and lack of faith, and feelings of insecurity of any kind are
all just subsets or masks of fear and they are merely indicators
of blockage in the flow of Love.
But what about pain? Isn't it a physical "thing"? Yes, but the "receptor"
and "translator" of the "feeling" of pain is non-physical consciousness
which has only a moment-to-moment existence, and requires constant reinforcement
if it is continue to be "felt". The fact that hypnosis can instantly
alleviate, or create pain, pain by diverting the mind and the fact
that many adepts in various disciplines have demonstrated the mind's ability
to negate pain, are proofs of this amazing power of the mind to either
perpetuate or alleviate physical pain. Pain also calls up the fear factor
in our minds and gets us to thinking that this disturbance is forever
or that it can't be stopped. This then brings up the control issue,
which gets us thinking that we are not in control of this situation and
thus causes even more fear.
Although there are physical correlates to pain, the conscious awareness
of it has to be based on memories. Therefore it resides in the subconscious
I....which is not our body but which imagines itself to be through lack
of understanding and through over dependence on identifying
ourselves with our feelings or emotions.
They are not us. They
are only reactions to our memories.
Someone said something bad about us. Then we feel hurt. This is a memory
that we are allowing to torture us because we identify ourselves with
the memory. In truth, though, memories can torture no one...unless they
allow it because of ignorance or out of neglect to use their own power
of will.
I know this is a hard concept to grasp for some but let me ask this question?
Who among you has not had a pain....psychological or physical...which
didn't subside or go into the background of your awareness when your mind
was otherwise momentarily engaged in something creative, interesting or
joyful? I rest my case. Love is the stronger force and possibly the only
force which truly exists. When you begin to understand the full ramifications
of the creative nature of the LifeDream concept, then I think that you
will see why I can make this statement.
